The Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex is a large region of space about 460 light years from Earth. The multitude of colours isspectacular. It is made up of several nebulae andinterstellar dust clouds, and is one of the closeststar-forming regions to us. I captured this shot over 2hours at Santa Susana, a Bortle 4 dark site.

The Cygnus Loop, a supernova remnant, comprising of the two halves of the VeilNebula, as well as several other objects includingPickering's Triangle and. The Western Veil (NGC 6960), in the lower right of this image, is also known as the "Witch's Broom" and you can clearly see why!
